欧宝体育 Launches ASCEND Program for Students with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
May 29, 2025欧宝体育, with generous support from the Peter & Elizabeth Tower Foundation, has launched the ASCEND (Academic Success & Career Exploration for New Directions) program鈥攖he first comprehensive transition and postsecondary program in Western New York鈥攖hat provides students with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to develop academic, career, and independent living skills.
Students will participate in a five-semester program, culminating in a career exploration credential in one of three pathways: business and entrepreneurship, human behavior and development, or creative arts.
ASCEND features inclusive classroom experiences, campus and community engagement pathways, and career exploration internships that enable students to hone their interests, build important social and professional skills, and find fulfilling employment and community participation opportunities upon program completion.
鈥溑繁μ逵 is extremely excited and proud to launch the ASCEND program and lead the way for higher education programs like this in Western New York,鈥 said ASCEND Director, Lisa Casper. 鈥淲e are thrilled to provide a thoughtfully designed curriculum and supportive campus environment for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities to help them pursue their goals and find new opportunities in our community."

ASCEND will welcome six students into the program each fall, beginning this year. The application for this fall鈥檚 enrollment is open through June 30.
