Update on Lake Erie and Upper Niagara River Fisheries
-public meeting  from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the Lodge at Woodlawn Beach State Park in Blasdell, Erie County.  DEC鈥檚 meeting will begin at 6 p.m. with an informal discussion followed by presentations starting at 6:30 p.m. Topics include the 2025 fishing outlook, 2024 fishing performance and survey results, fish contaminant monitoring, consumption advisories, and cormorant control.  All are welcome to attend this free event and registration is not required. This annual meeting is sponsored by DEC鈥檚 Lake Erie Fisheries Research Unit and Region 9 Fisheries offices. Light refreshments will be provided.

The Business of Energy
- 8am-10am at The Buffalo History Museum, 1 Museum Court, Buffalo, NY 14216.  Free, but . Join the WNY Business Leadership Forum for The Business of Energy: Clean Power, Local Impact, featuring expert insights from Jon Powers, Co-Founder & President of CleanCapital, and Matt Ferguson, Partner at Lippes Mathias and former Senior Advisor at the U.S. Department of Energy.  The session will provide a deep dive into how renewable energy development, federal policies, and increased local investment are transforming the region鈥攁nd how businesses of all sizes can benefit.  Following the keynote discussion, a panel of local energy and business leaders will share their perspectives on navigating the intersection of energy policy, economic development, and business growth in WNY.
